The area around Valbonne has many interesting places to visit, including the following:

  • Antibes: Antibes is a coastal town located about 20 minutes from Valbonne by car. It is known for its beautiful beaches, its historic old town, and its charming harbor. Antibes is home to the Picasso Museum, which exhibits works by the artist that were created during his time in the town.
  • Grasse: again located about 20 minutes from Valbonne by car. It is known for its perfumeries and its fragrant flowers, which are used to produce some of the world’s finest perfumes. Grasse is also home to several museums, including the Musée International de la Parfumerie and the Fragonard Perfume Museum.
  • Cannes: Cannes is the world famous town located about 30 minutes from Valbonne by car. It is known for its film festival and its glamorous beaches, but it also has a rich history and many cultural attractions. Cannes is home to the Musée de la Castre, which exhibits art and artifacts from around the world, and the Musée de la Mer, which focuses on the history and culture of the Mediterranean region.
  • Nice: Nice is a large city located about 45 minutes from Valbonne by car. It is known for its beautiful beaches, its vibrant culture, and its rich history. Nice is home to many museums and galleries, including the Musée Matisse and the Musée d’Art Moderne et d’Art Contemporain.

  • Plage de la Batterie: This beach is located in Antibes, about 20 minutes from Valbonne by car. It is a large, sandy beach with clear water and a playground for children. There are several restaurants and cafes located near the beach.
  • Plage de la Garoupe:  in Antibes, about 20 minutes from Valbonne by car. It is a small, rocky beach with clear water and a few restaurants and cafes nearby.
  • Plage de la Petite Salis: in Antibes. It is a small, sandy beach with clear water and a few restaurants and cafes nearby.
  • Plage du Soleil: This beach is located in Cannes, about 30 minutes by car. It is a large, sandy beach with clear water and a playground for children. There are several restaurants and cafes located near the beach.

And if hiking is your thing there are lots of hills and mountains nearby that you can explore. The Alpes-Maritimes region is really beautiful and there’s no shortage of outdoor activities to enjoy. Some of the closest options to Valbonne include:

  • Mont Alban: This mountain is located above Cannes, about 30 minutes away by car. It’s a popular spot for hikers and has great views of the Mediterranean coast.
  • Mont Chauve: This mountain is also located above Cannes, about 30 minutes away by car. It’s another popular spot for hikers and offers some great views of the surrounding area.
  • Mont Gros: Above Nice, about 45 minutes away by car. It’s a popular spot for hikers and has some great views of the coast.
  • Pic De Courmettes: Behind Bar Sur Loup, this hill is about the same size as Ben Nevis in Scotland but you can drive halfway up to a monastery and walk the rest in a big loop. It takes about 2.5 hours to do it all. The vows are fabulous.
  • Gorges du Loup: These are a series of canyons located above Grasse, about 20 minutes away by car. They’re a popular destination for hikers and offer some beautiful views of the surrounding area.
